T - Type Strainers

FLOW-GENIX “T” Strainers are popular in Refineries to remove sludge in pump suction lines. They are mainly butt weld ends and easy in removing the screen for cleaning.

“T” Strainer is installed into a pipeline system to remove unwanted debris from the pipeline flow. In comparison to Y Strainers, “T” Strainers are commonly used in pipelines where debris loading is high and the collection of solids is required. “T” Strainers can be installed in a series to provide more effective filtration of unwanted debris.

“T” strainer is fabricated from pipes & plates or standard equal tee & WNRF flanges. Filter elements are made of stainless steel perforated sheet or wire mesh supported by the perforated sheet. In “T” type strainer many times a structural skeleton made of flats and a round bar is used to support the wire mesh. “T” Type Strainers are a low-cost solution to large nominal bore straining requirements “T” strainers feature either bolted cover or quick opening covers for application suitability.

A blow down plug on the drain port will allow clean-out without removal of the screen, and without interrupting the process flow, providing on request.
