FLOW-GENIX is Knife Gate Valve manufacturing in Unidirectional and Bi-Directional type, Rising Stem and Non-Rising Stem with Metal to Metal Seat & Soft Seat (Renewable Type) which mostly use in service of Isolation and On-Off service.

The valve sliding plate (gate) has a knife-edge, so it is called Knife Gate Valve or Knife Edge Gate Valve which both are the same. Previously it was mostly used in the service of Powder, Slurry, Pulp, and Paper Mill now it use in many more industrial applications. Some user also asks for Slide Gate Valve in place of Knife Edge Gate Valve.

Valve Design & Testing : As Per MSS-SP 81

Body Test

Knife Edge Gate Valves are tested at 150 psi up to 12” Size in C.S./S.S./Alloy Steel Construction and 75 psi up to 24” Size.

Seat Test

MSS SP 81 has an allowable leakage rate (for metal to metal seated valves only) of 40 cc per inch of diameter, per minute at 40 psi pressure. On a 12” size valves this would be equal 40 times 12, or 480 cc cc per minute at 40 psi.

Maximum allowable leakage of 0.6 GPM, when tested with water at 40 psi, applied in the normal flow direction.

For Soft Seated (Elastomers /P.T.F.E.) valves no visible leakage when tested with water at 40 psi.

Above 24” Size & Renewable seat design Knife Edge Gate Valves is not covered in MSS-SP 81 Standard. Contact factory for higher size with the application.
